Policy

Loyola University New Orleans cares about the health and well-being of its employees and recognizes that a variety of personal problems can disrupt their personal and work lives. An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to all employees through Horizon Health.  The EAP offers assistance with your concerns for family care, college, conflict management at home or work, financial, education or legal planning, child or elder care options, healthy living, and with various emotional issues that you may have.  These services are completely confidential, available any time by phone or online, and are available for you and your household at no charge.

Procedure

The EAP is strictly confidential and is designed to safeguard employee privacy and rights. Information given to the EAP counselor may be released only if requested in writing by the employee. Personal information concerning employee participation in the EAP is maintained in a confidential manner. Human Resources is not informed of employees using EAP services and no information related to an employee’s participation in the program is entered into the personnel file.  Horizon Health may be contacted by 1-800-955-6422 or visiting the website http://new.mylifevalues.com/login.asp?txtUsername=loyola&txtPassword=eap.

There is no cost for employees to consult with Horizon for up to three visits. If further counseling is necessary, referrals will be made to a network provider. The counselor will also let employees know whether any costs associated with private services may be covered by their health insurance plan. Costs such as copays not covered by your insurance plan remain the responsibility of the employee.
