Human Resources Manual

Policy No.: 4-13 This policy applies to:
Policy Name: Jury Duty Non-exempt staff
Effective Date: 08/01/04 Exempt staff
Revised: Faculty

Policy

Loyola University New Orleans encourages employees to fulfill their civic responsibilities by serving on juries when required and pays employees required to serve on a jury.

Procedure

Jury duty pay for full-time regular employees is calculated on the employee’s base pay rate for the hours spent away from work serving on a jury. Employees are expected to report for work whenever the court schedule permits.

Employees must show the jury duty summons to their supervisor as soon as possible so that the supervisor may make arrangements to accommodate their absence.
