Policy
Loyola University New Orleans offers a competitive benefits package for its employees. In addition to mandated benefits such as Social Security, Medicare, Unemployment insurance, and Workers’ Compensation insurance, and benefits that Loyola provides such as retirement, basic life insurance/AD&D coverage, extended sick leave and long-term disability coverage, employees may choose from among a number of health, welfare and retirement savings options. Choices include:
Two levels of medical coverage
Two levels of dental coverage
Additional term life insurance for employees & dependents
Additional Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
Flexible Spending Accounts
Supplemental Retirement Plan
Voluntary Vision coverage
Voluntary Long-Term Care Insurance
Loyola reserves the right to change or terminate benefit plans at any time.
Procedures
New employees select their benefits upon employment. Each fall, all employees have the opportunity to add, delete or change health and welfare benefits during open enrollment. Retirement plan changes may be made at any time.
Updated information about the various benefits plans is contained in the Benefits Guide booklet distributed during open enrollment. The Benefits Guide (Adobe PDF) is also available on the Human Resources web page and in hard copy in the Human Resources Department.
For more detailed information about specific provisions of the benefits plans as well as ERISA information about the plans, please refer to the Summary Plan Descriptions for each plan which are available on the Human Resources web page or in hard copy in the Human Resources Department.
