The University Honors Program cannot wait to meet our First Year Honors Students this August. Fourty-three outstanding applicants will join the UHP for Fall semester, 2009. Please keep up with your Loyola email accounts and Blackboard resources for information about advising, mentoring and upcoming UHP events.
The Year that Was
The 2008 - 2009 Academic year was a big one for the UHP. We said an emotional goodbye to our outstanding graduates of the "Unsinkable" Katrina Class, and look forward to hearing about their future successes. The rebirth of the University Honors Association (UHA) contributed to a wealth of extracurricular activites. New traditions such as the Last Lecture series took hold. Closing out the year, the UHP spearheaded the organization of the inaugural Jesuit Summer Institute for Advanced Study (JSI) - a two week undergraduate seminar that brought together 28 outstanding student fellows from 16 members of the Association of Jesuit Colleges & Schools (AJCU).
