The Faculty Forum
| Faculty members in the College are dedicated to
your academic success at Loyola. The Jesuit tradition of education
is nearly
500 years old, and we understand what works and are committed to
your full engagement in the life of our campus and city. This year
the theme of the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences Forum
is New Orleans: Experiencing the Uniqueness of a Great American
City.
We will
plan events throughout
the year that highlight the work of our distinguished faculty as
it relates to the exciting history and culture of the City of New
Orleans. While we will have lectures and panels to discuss issues
surrounding the city, we will also have a series of “Big
Easy” social and cultural events featuring the work of local
musicians, chefs, writers, and artists from the area. These activities
will help you appreciate the uniqueness of the city in which you
will reside for the next four years and that will likely capture
your heart for a lifetime! These themed events will also provide
multiple opportunities for you to develop strong relationships
with your peers and faculty members.
The Faculty Forum continues a very successful series
of events held in the spring semester associated with the intellectual
exploration of Hurricane Katrina from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
This series brought together Loyola experts and nationally-recognized
leaders to discuss numerous topics surrounding the hurricane
and its impact on the City of New Orleans. For more information

the Storm” series. |
