Please note that priority for summer assistance is given to students who received assistance at Loyola during the 2007-2008 school year, and that assistance granted is not likely to cover all costs associated with summer enrollment. Also, most students have no remaining Pell Grant eligibility available in summer.
Eligibility for federal loans is limited to the difference between the amount borrowed during the previous Fall and Spring semesters and the maximum loan limits for each specific grade level as set by the U.S. Department of Education.
You must be registered for at least 6 hours (undergraduate) or 5 hours (graduate) before we can calculate your eligibility for federal student loans.

Please be aware that if the parent of a dependent undergraduate student applies for and is denied a Federal PLUS Loan, the student can apply for an additional Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan. Please note that the maximum loan limits for each specific grade level for the Stafford Loan are set by the Department of Education.

Please note that if your total semester enrollment of 6 hours (undergraduate) /5 hours (graduate) is split between two summer sessions, the first half of the loan will be disbursed at the beginning of the first summer session. The second half of the loan cannot be disbursed until the beginning of the second summer session . Please be aware of this when looking at your bill and remember that you will receive the full amount of your loan for the summer. For instance, if your loan for the summer is $2,750, you will receive $1,375 at the beginning of your first summer session and $1,375 at the beginning of the second summer session.
