Calculating Your Cost of Attendance for Veterans
The actual cost of attendance (COA) is unique for each student at each school.
While some expenses are fixed (like tuition and fees), others are influenced and controlled by the student like personal expenses. This worksheet provides you with the basic standard costs and living expense allowances for undergraduate students for the 2012-2013 academic year.
All financial aid funds first go to pay the student's "direct costs" for attending Loyola University New Orleans. "Direct costs" are tuition and fees and on campus room and board. Families must also plan for paying what we call "indirect costs" (off-campus housing, books, transportation and miscellaneous personal expenses).
Students are responsible for paying all charges not covered by their financial aid awards.

- Title IV Cash Advances for books: A Title IV credit balance occurs when the total amount of all Title IV funds (Pell, Federal Direct Student Loans) credited exceeds the amount of tuition and fees, room and board, and other authorized charges the institution assessed to the student. In the case of the books and supplies provision, the school would have to consider all of the Title IV funds that a student is eligible to receive -- i.e., that would be creditable -- 10 days before the beginning of the payment period.]
