Changes to the Federal Need Analysis Formulas for 2009-2010:

The College Cost Reduction and Access Act ("CCRA") mandated a number of changes to several federal financial aid programs. The Department of Education has revised the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ("FAFSA") to incorporate these changes. This page contains more information on the projected changes

New Online Tools:

  • If you want to begin exploring your financial aid options and get an early start on the financial aid process, FAFSA4caster is for you! By using FAFSA4caster, you and your family will receive an early estimate of eligibility for federal student aid. This Web site provides you with an opportunity to increase your knowledge of the financial aid process; become familiar with the various types of federal student aid that are available; and investigate other sources of aid, such as grants and scholarships.
  • KnowHow2Go is a new web site geared towards high school students who want to apply to college.
  • College Navigator is a site developed by the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics . The site aims to help families find basic information that they can use when evaluating their options for post-secondary education.
  • Going2College is another new web site that provides information about all the resources available in your state to help plan for a career, prepare for college and pay for college
