New Orleans Family Justice Center

New Orleans Family Justice Center (NOFJC) is a partnership of agencies dedicated to ending family violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and stalking through prevention and coordinated response by providing comprehensive, client-centered empowerment services in a single location.

WHAT YOU DO

The NOFC Immigration Program provides Case Management services to survivors of domestic violence. Responsibilities include: providing informal English assistance to clients who speak Spanish and supporting the bilingual case manager in clerical duties and follow-up phone calls. Bilingual students or highly proficient Spanish speakers preferred for this program.

WHAT YOU LEARN

Students will learn about the warning signs, effects of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, services available to victims and survivors, and the challenges and opportunities of working in this area of the nonprofit sector.

PRESERVICE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Students must complete the NOFJC Volunteer Packet and sign a confidentiality form.
