Elevate New Orleans

The mission of Elevate New Orleans is to elevate the life skills and abilities of inner-city student athletes through athletic, academic and social development. We help close the achievement gap by ensuring that inner-city youth have access to highly effective afterschool and summer developmental programs

WHAT YOU DO

Students will be serving the academic program at Elevate and can expect to tutor student athletes in the following areas: math, science, writing, Spanish and other subjects as needed. When not tutoring, students will be asked to do research, and help develop curriculum and resources to improve the program.

WHAT YOU LEARN

By serving at Elevate, Loyola students will learn that inner-city student athletes are no different than any other kids. They will also learn about the workings of a nonprofit dedicated to providing positive support for student athletes. Finally, service learners will discover how they can make their own personal contribution to positive change.
