New Orleans Water is Safe for Drinking

State health officials have certified that New Orleans water is safe for drinking. Extensive tests were conducted by the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board and approved by the Office of Public Health, which enforces the federal Clean Water Act in Louisiana. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency concurred in the state's decision to certify that tap water is safe to drink.
