Building Access Effective Wednesday, October 26To: Loyola Faculty and Staff From: Paul C. Fleming, Assistant Vice President for Administration Subject: Building Access Effective Wednesday, October 26
As of Wednesday, 10/26/05, faculty and staff will be allowed to return to campus and begin using their offices to conduct normal university business. However, staffing and security issues necessitate that certain restrictions be implemented.
First, buildings may only be accessed and occupied Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Also, in the interest of security, each building will have only one designated entrance. Other doors will only be available as emergency exits. The entrances to be used are as follows:
*Danna Center, Monroe Library, Mercy Hall, and Rec Plex are currently occupied by military personnel. Anyone entering these buildings will be required to show valid Loyola identification to the military guard on duty at the designated entrance.
Since the military is also using the West Road Garage and Mercy lot, parking will be limited to the Freret Street Garage and the Horseshoe. Vehicles will not be allowed to drive through the West Road Garage to enter the campus, so please enter on the Freret Street side.
Another item all those returning to campus should be aware of is that we are presently working with a very small housekeeping staff due to the many evacuees who have not been able to return. Everyone will do their best, but cleaning services will not be back to pre-Katrina standards at this time.
We apologize in advance for any minor inconvenience created by these restrictions, and look forward to seeing all of you as Loyola continues on the road back to business as usual.
