Transportation Costs
Airport Shuttle fare is $10 and will take you from the airport to your hotel.
Taxi fares average $2.10 initially and 20¢ for each one-fifth mile. The average fare from the airport to the French Quarter is $28 for one or two people.
Bus fare is $1.25 and transfers are 10¢. Exact change is required. Contact the Regional Transit Authority for schedules.
The St. Charles Streetcar is not currently running due to Hurricane Katrina damages. A bust does run on the old street car route for $1.25. Exact change is required. The bus runs from downtown Canal Street along St. Charles Avenue to Carrollton Avenue.
Parking garages and lots are located throughout the downtown area. Fees range from $1.50 to $2 for the first hour to $4 - $6/day. Limited street parking is available. Read and adhere to parking signs as regulations are enforced by prompt towing and steep fines.
