Alecia Long, an assistant professor of history at LSU talked about New Orleans’ gay subculture and politics; Raphael Cassimere, Univerity of New Orleans history professor emeritus, presented a personal recollection of the civil rights movement in New Orleans and Kent Germany, who teaches history at the University of South Carolina, discussed politics, Hurricane Betsy and race relations. Loyola sociology professor Anthony Ladd moderated.
