Many of you will be traveling to the Big Easy for commencement. Driving in the city can be perplexing. Since New Orleans is shaped like a crescent, it can be confusing to find north, south, east or west. Fortunately the city is quite compact and you can walk, grab a cab, or hop on a streetcar to get to most places - including campus.

St. Charles Avenue Streetcar
A National Historic Engineering Landmark, the St. Charles Avenue streetcar line offers a nostalgic way to see the city with the convenience of stops in front of campus. Streetcar fare is $1.25 each way, and exact change is required.

To avoid the need for exact change, you may purchase a 1-day “Jazzy Pass” for $3 directly from the streetcar conductor. Cash only.

Additionally, the Regional Transit Authority has a GoMobile app which allows you to buy tickets anywhere, anytime with your smart phone. Download the GoMobile app via the RTA's website.

Please note that the Regional Transit Authority is currently performing preventative maintenance to the historic St. Charles Avenue streetcar line. Passengers can ride the entire streetcar line but have the option to board supplemental shuttle bus service to ensure prompt service.
