Alpha Phi Alpha

Alpha Phi Alpha, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans was founded at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, by seven college men who recognized the need for a strong bond of Brotherhood among African American collegiate men. The Fraternity intitially served as a study and support group for minority students who faced racial prejudice, both educationally and socially, at Cornell. The Rho Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. continues to hold high the fraternity's aims of manly deeds, scholarship, and love for all mankind on Loyola University's Campus. Some of our annual events are the Ms. Black & Gold Pageant, "A Voteless People is a Hopeless People" voter registration drive, Project Alpha, Food and Clothing Drives, Brotherhood Talk, and Hour of Power.
