Alpha Kappa Alpha

Alpha Kappa Alpha seeks to serve the community and to promote friendship and sisterhood among its members. Founded in 1908 at Howard University, Alpha Kappa Alpha was the first national sorority founded for black women. Our open motto is "By Culture and By Merit;" our colors are salmon pink and apple green. The Eta Theta chapter was founded at Loyola in 1972, and since that time has been a predominant force on Loyola's campus. Our annual events are AKA Week and the Pink Tie Affair, which is a fundraiser for various charities.
