Delta Gamma
Delta Gamma was established in 1873 at the Lewis School for girls in Oxford, MS. Since that time, Delta Gamma has grown to be the sorority with the most initiated members nationally and internationally. Delta Gamma is known for its high scholastic achievement, development of character, and dedication to improving the community. The Delta Gamma Foundation, Aid to the Blind and Service for Sight, is the largest philanthropy supported by any sorority nationally. The purpose of Delta Gamma is to offer women of all ages a rich heritage, a continuity based on sound and tested principles of integrity, personal responsibility, intellectual honesty and never ending sisterhood and support. Delta Gamma offers many programs: Anchor-thon, Anchor Bowl, Charity Denim, Vision Screenings, parties with the visually impaired children at Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired in Baton Rouge and community service activities. The Epsilon Phi chapter, here at Loyola, also sponsors many social events: Boxer Bash, Halloween Date Party, Winter Formal, Crush Party, Back in Black, Golden Anchor Ball and mixers with Loyola and Tulane fraternities. Founder's Day celebration, chapter retreats, and sisterhood events are only a few ways that Delta Gamma's at Loyola and nationwide spend time together.
