Beggars
The Beggars Fraternity was founded at Loyola University New Orleans in 1923, when a Jesuit traveled to Rome to secure the Pope's permission to form a social fraternity, the first at any Jesuit university. The Beggars Fraternity is responsible for the creation of the Loyola Student Government Association and The Maroon newspaper among other organizations. The Beggars Fraternity also hosts Loyola's longest running fraternity party, Beggars Blast.
