Loyola will offer a Certificate in Translation and Interpretation offered jointly from the Office of Professional & Continuing Studies, the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies, and the Department of Languages & Cultures beginning in the Fall of 2013. The certificate is a 21 credit continuing education program. This program is aimed to satisfy the need of translators and interpreters regionally and nationally.
The program offers three options for a certificate, which are: a certificate in Medical Translating and Interpreting, certificate in Legal Translation and Interpreting and a certificate in Medical and Legal Translating and Interpreting. The length of the coursework varies with each certificate.
The Certificate in Translation & Interpretation is designed for bilingual Louisiana residents and students who are interested in learning techniques and codes of practice in the fields of Spanish/English, English/Spanish translation and interpreting in legal and healthcare settings.
