Third Juried Loyola International Photo Contest

Did you take that perfect photo when you were traveling, studying or working in another country; a photo that captures the essence of another culture, country or people?  If so, now is your chance to show it.  Winning entries in the International Photo Contest will be exhibited in the Living Room in tthe Monroe Library during International Education Week, November 17-21   There will be an opening reception on Monday, November 17 at 5 p.m.

Rules:

  1. Participants: This contest is open to all members of the Loyola community - students, staff, faculty, and alumni.
  2. Subject:
    1. Photos can be taken in any country other than your home country
    2. Photos should tell your audience something about the country.
  3. Due Date: All entries must be submitted electronically by 5:00 p.m. October 10, 2008 to cie@loyno.edu.
  4. Submission Guidelines – initial submission will be electronic.
    1. Up to 5 images can be submitted.
    2. Initial submissions should be emailed to cie@loyno.edu.
    3. File format: Email five images in jpg, tiff or psd format at 72 dpi (8"x10"/ 1.5 Mb or so) to cie@loyno.edu.
    4. Naming convention: Please name each image with First and Last Initials and title, e.g. for participant "Jane Doe": JD_title1, JD_title2, etc...
    5. Information relating to the photo: In the body of the email please include your complete contact information (name, address, phone number and email), along with a numbered list of the submitted images with the following information for each:
      1. The title of photo
      2. Where the photo was taken
      3. The date the photo was taken
      4. A brief commentary on the photo and its significance
  5. Juried: Photos will be judged by a committee of professional and amateur photographers. The best photos will be selected for display.
  6. Notification: Artists will be notified by October 24 of their selection.
  7. Selected work: Selected photos will need to be printed 8x10 or larger, matted, and delivered to Mercy Hall Room 301 by November 7 at 5 p.m (CIE reserves the right to reject final prints that do not match the quality of the electronic entry.)
