Below is information on Loyola partners with programs in Languages and Cultures. Please, note that these are semester programs. For more information, make an appointment to speak with an advisor in the Center for International Education.


Programs in Morocco and the United Arab Emirates are available through the International Student Exchange Program.



The Beijing Center

Since 1998, The Beijing Center for Chinese Studies (TBC) has provided the world an unprecedented education about China. TBC combines intensive course studies, opportunities for immersion, and academic excursions across the country to give students a well-rounded understanding of China.   



Programs in France are available through E.S.C.E., the International Student Exchange Program, and Micefa.



Technische Universität Dortmund

Centrally located in Europe, Dortmund is the 7th largest city in Germany with a wealth of cultural offerings. The TU is a modern university founded in 1968 and associated with several prestigious research institutes (one Max-Planck, two Leibnbiz and two Fraunhofer institutes) and it possesses several research centers.  Students can enroll in the free one month intensive program before the start of the semesters and then continue their study of German throughout the semester.



Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan

The Università Cattolica is the largest private university in Italy and the only one operating on a national scale. It is Europe's most important Catholic university and was ranked number 11 across all Italian institutions. Located in the center of Milano, USCS offers numerous courses in English that are designed for U.S study abroad students.



Sophia University, Tokyo

Founded in 1913 as the first Catholic university in Japan, Sophia has grown to be one of Japan's leading private universities. Students at Sophia enroll with Japanese students in the Faculty of Comparative Cultures where they can study a full curriculum in English along with Japanese language and culture classes. 



PUC – Rio, Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro

PUC - Rio was the first private Catholic university in Brazil and is today internationally recognized as one of the top five Brazilian institutions. It is the most important doctoral research center in Brazil and its students are from highly diverse backgrounds. PUC - Rio has a picturesque campus located near the forest as well as the beach.



USAL - Universidad del Salvador

The Universidad del Salvador (USAL) is a private university of Jesuit heritage and one of the most prestigious educational institutions in Argentina. With a total student body of around 30,000, the university receives about 500 international exchange students per year. With courses primarily taught in Spanish, Loyola students with adequate Spanish abilities can have an immersion experience studying alongside Argentinian students.


Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Quito

PUCE is the oldest and one of the most prestigious private universities in Ecuador. It is located in the capital of Quito which is surrounded by volcanoes and whose historic center is an important UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
