Job Description
Communications/public relations intern to work with the marketing, public relations, tourism promotion and event planning. Intern works under supervision of Programs Director and contributes to a variety of projects, including, but not limited to, press releases/calendar copy, marketing materials, media relations, website updates, event planning (Museum Educators Open House; Visitors Studies Association Conference; Museum District Day); hotel tourism research project; general office duties (phones, faxing, copying, etc.); and other projects as assigned.

Requirements
Currently enrolled, fulltime, undergraduate student who will be returning to college as a full-time sophomore, junior or senior student for at least the fall semester after the internship. Full time enrollment is defined as 12 or more credits in one semester.

Strong writing and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented, excellent organizational skills; self-starter; fast learner; multi-tasker; team-player; flexible attitude; takes initiative; requires minimal supervision; must be PC proficient and have knowledge of Internet, MS Word, Excel and Outlook; energetic and enthusiastic.

Salary and schedule
8 week consecutive internship; requires a commitment of 35 hours per week; June 9 – August 1; Monday – Friday; 8 hours per day (1 hour for lunch; unpaid) and some evenings (although most evenings are optional, unpaid networking opportunities, if the intern should choose to participate).
$2,500 stipend will be offered (paid out in four payments of $625).

Miscellaneous
This internship is part of the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program.

Intern will be fully welcomed into the organization as a staff member; will gain a broad view of non-profit administration, as well as valuable experience working hands-on with area stakeholders.

Upon hire, intern must provide written enrollment verification from their college/university (registrar’s office) confirming the student’s enrollment status.
