1.) How do I register for Campus Recruiting?
We recommend that you participate in at least one resume preparation activity offered by the Counseling & Career Services Center. To register, you will need to create a profile and upload your resume on PackTRAK. Within 2-3 business days after you have completed these three steps, your record will be activated and you will be registered for campus recruiting and resume referrals. You will receive an e-mail message confirming the activation of your registration. Back to top...
2.) What resume preparation activities are available?
Participating in Job Search 401, Resumania, a resume writing skills session, a Resume Lab session, or a one-to-one resume review all qualify you to register for campus recruiting. Back to top...
PackTRAK is an on-campus recruiting management system, powered by a third party partner named MonsterTRAK. Through PackTRAK, you can view recruiting deadlines, find recruiting events, and submit resumes, cover letters, and transcripts to employers that are interviewing here at Loyola University New Orleans. You will need to be registered with Counseling & Career Services in order to do this. Back to top...
MonsterTRAK is a web site dedicated to bringing students and employers together. There are job listings, career advice, and a virtual career fair. The Counseling & Career Services center has partnered with MonsterTRAK to offer 24 hour access to targeted job and internship listings as well as our on-line recruiting management system, PackTRAK. If you are off-campus, you will need a Loyola University New Orleans password to access job listings or PackTRAK. PackTRAK is the only system used by the Counseling & Career Services Center to maintain the Campus Recruiting Program. Back to top...

7.) How do I know if I I've gotten an interview?
The recruiter should contact you; however, in some cases, recruiters do not contact the candidates. On PackTRAK, there is a section marked: "Personal Reminders." Check this area often to see if you have been preselected or are an alternate for an interview with a company. Back to top...
8.) Where do I go for my interview?
Interviews usually take place in the Counseling & Career Services Center. Come into the office, sign in at the Reception desk, and wait for your interviewer to come and call your name. Sometimes, interviews will take place in other locations on campus. Those locations will be posted on PackTRAK. Back to top...
9.) What should I wear to my interview?
Unless otherwise noted on PackTRAK, you should wear a suit to an interview.

10.) What if I can't make my interview time?
You should never sign-up for an interview until you are sure you can make it. However, if you learn that you can't make your interview before the sign-up deadline, you can simply change your interview time on PackTRAK. If the sign-up deadline is passed, you will have to call or visit the Counseling & Career Services Center to change your time or to cancel an interview. You must make this change prior to 24 hours before your interview time.
Interviews canceled less than 24 hours before they are scheduled will be considered a no-show. If you no-show for an interview, you must write a letter of apology to the employer and send a copy to the Counseling & Career Services Center. Your interviewing privileges will be suspended until this letter is received. If you have more than one no-show, you will no longer be eligible for the Campus Recruiting or Resume Referral Programs. 11. What if I'm not graduating this year, why should I register for campus recruiting?
Many organizations come to campus to recruit for internships and/or part-time positions. You must register to be able to interview. Registering also allows the Counseling & Career Services Center to forward your resume to potential employers for internships and/or part-time positions. Back to top...
12.) Do I have to go to a company's presentation? What should I wear?
Company presentations, while not mandatory, are extremely helpful to your job search. If you do not attend a presentation, your interviewer's first question, whether or not she asks it, is "why?" You should make every effort to attend presentations. Attire is business casual. You don't need to wear a suit, but a nice pair of slacks with an Oxford-style shirt, or a nice skirt and a blouse are recommended. If you cannot attend a presentation due to a prior commitment such as a class or a job, you should e-mail or call the recruiter to let her know this. You will make a good impression, and will show that you are interested in the company, as well. Back to top...
13.) What if a company preselects me and I don't want to interview with them?
Simply don't sign up for an interview time. If you have previously submitted a resume to the company, you should write a note to the recruiter explaining that you have decided not to pursue employment with their company. You're not going to hurt their feelings by not signing up for an interview. Back to top...
14.) How does my resume get referred to an organization? What should I do?
The Resume Referral Program is set up for employers that may not be able to come to campus. We search our database for candidates that meet their requirements and send them a collection of resumes. Once your resume has been referred, you will receive an e-mail containing the contact information for the organization. The employer will contact you, and you may be interviewed in their office, in another location on campus, or in a hotel conference room. This is an excellent program for smaller employers, and employers in geographically diverse areas. In some cases the organization will require an application or additional materials to complete your application. If this is the case, their requirements will be detailed in the notification e-mail. If you are interested in a position, we always suggest you follow-up our referral with a letter, e-mail, or phone call if appropriate. Back to top...
