Partner with the CDC

We hope you’ll collaborate with us to help students explore career opportunities.  Here are a few ways we can work together. Call us today!

Career Liaisons
In order to best assist students in each academic department, the CDC operates using an academic liaison model.  There is a CDC staff member assigned as career liason who specializes in the career needs for your college. We will coordinate with you on activities and events for your academic department.

Class and Group Presentations
CDC staff are regularly invited to present in academic classes and at various campus organization meetings.

If you are interested in having a career staff member come speak to your class or present to your campus group, contact the career liaison for your college.  We would be happy to create a career presentation specifically for your group. Examples of class and group presentations:

Careers for Math Majors
Career Options with a Sociology Degree
Preparation for Law School
How Internships Can Lead to Career Success
Resumes for Marketing Majors

We can also arrange for professionals to come to speak to your class about career and academic opportunities.

Internships
In the CDC, we work proactively to help students explore internship options to supplement their academic education.  These experiences can be critical for students as they pursue academic and professional pursuits.

We facilitate internship experiences in a number of ways:

For the academic programs that require internships, we work directly with the faculty, college internship coordinators, and students to support internship development, vet internship sites, prepare candidates for the experience, help students learn strategies to be successful, and assist with post-internship activities including evaluation.

For other students who are exploring internship opportunities, the CDC advises them on the benefits of such an experience and helps students explore options, search for possibilities, and take the steps to secure positions.

The CDC also coordinates a number of university-wide internship opportunities that can provide valuable experience for students in all academic programs including internships with The Washington Center and the Disney College Program.

If you have any questions about internship opportunities for your students, contact your college’s career liaison.

We’ll Take Your Class
Going to miss a class?  Don’t cancel.  Let us cover for you. You can choose the type of presentation you’d like us to provide, or with enough advance notice, we can provide a tailored career presentation according to your field and specifications.

Jobs and Internships with EMPLOYOLA
Let us know about jobs and internships that come into your department so we can post them through our EMPLOYOLA Job Board.  We’ll return the favor by letting you know when employers are looking to hire students from your particular department.

On-Campus Interviewing
In order to facilitate the hiring of Loyola students, the CDC often brings employers to campus to interview students for jobs and internships.  Faculty and staff promotion of these events is critical to their success.  We rely on you to help us spread the word about interviewing opportunities at Loyola and encourage student participation.  We also hope you’ll join us as a host when employers come to Loyola for these visits.

Resume Referrals
Resume referrals are just one of the many services the CDC offers to employers.  When an employer asks for a resume referral, we examine student resumes uploaded in the EMPLOYOLA system based on employer qualification guidelines and send them a resume packet of suitable students.  This often takes place before an employer comes to campus for on-campus interviewing.

CDC Calendar
Check our calendar in order to see what career events are coming up.  Encourage your students to participate or arrange your own career event for students.
