Individual Career Counseling

Individual consultation and career assessment are provided to establish a valid appraisal of life experience, interests, personality traits, and values. These sessions encourage students to explore career options systematically through research, informational interviews, internships, course work, observations, and work experience. The goal is to aid students in developing an academic and career development plan preparing them for entry into a chosen profession.

Personality and Interest Testing

As part of the career counseling process, the Career Development Center offers both interest and personality assessment in the form of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory. Testing can be very helpful in forming the basis for career research and development and is free for currently enrolled Loyola University New Orleans students. Alumni may participate in this process for a small fee to cover materials and reports.
