Career Development Services for Alumni
Policy
The Career Development Center (CDC) offers various levels of services to the Loyola community. These services may include one-on-one coaching, access to non-password protected web-based resources, and access to password protected web-resources. Access to all resources is determined by the student’s or alumnus’ status. Further access may be granted on a case-by-case basis.
Procedure
NEW ALUMNI
New alumni (graduated within the past year) have access to all services,
whether web-based, password protected or not, or in person.
ALUMNI
Alumni, who are more than one year from their graduation, are granted
access to personal consultation for any of the following:
-
Resume and cover letter development or review
-
Job search strategies
-
Interview preparation support
-
Other general career-related questions
Consultations may be held in person or by phone (for alumni outside New Orleans). In most cases, alumni find one consultation is sufficient. It is at the coach’s discretion to determine what other center resources would be appropriate and available for the alumnus, including additional visits.
Additionally, alumni have access to all non-password protected resources available on the CDC’s Web site. The password protected e-resources are tailored to current students, and therefore are rarely appropriate for alumni use.
Scheduling
Alumni are asked to call the CDC office manager to set appointments with career coaches. That number is (504) 865-3860. Please provide the office manager with your graduation year; academic major/degree; reason for visit; as well as contact phone number and e-mail address.
