Downtown Spirituality Series
Reverend Susan Gaumer of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, will lead a discussion of the book The Luminous Web: Essays on Science and Religion by Reverend Barbara Brown Taylor.
"First Tuesdays," an annual interfaith series promoting dialogue and understanding on topics of spirituality, begins Tuesday, October 6, at The Jesuit Church of the Immaculate Conception, 130 Baronne St. and will continue each month through May, 2010. Representatives of New Orleans’ Jewish, Christian and Muslim communities will lead conversations about their spiritual traditions, addressing this year’s theme, "Spirituality in the City."
First Tuesdays is co-sponsored by Jesuit Church, Loyola Institute for Ministry and The Catholic Book Store. All presentations will begin at 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Lenes Hall, 130 Baronne Street, the parish center of Jesuit Church. A simple lunch will be provided. All are welcome and admission is free. Graduate and CEU credit are available through the Loyola Institute for Ministry.
All book titles are available from The Catholic Book Store, 3003 S. Carrollton Avenue.
