Related to research is the work the Boggs Center does to promote literacy advocacy. It gathers and analyzes best practices of local, state, and national partners, and disseminates it to practitioners, funders, and policy makers. In keeping with its commitment to social justice, the Center often works with grassroots organizations such as the Neighborhoods Partnership Network and the New Orleans Fatherhood Consortium. This ensures civic engagement – that the issues of most concern to marginalized populations are incorporated into the research, and that they are also involved in developing a policy agenda.
Policy Papers – In partnership with the New Orleans Fatherhood Consortium, the Boggs Center produced the first five in a series of policy papers, and expects to produce more, based on the needs and voices of its constituency.
