Cashier, Darren Fremin, 26, of Belle Chase works at one of the few retail outlets in the high and dry uptown area. His customers are mostly soldiers and firemen, with occasional resident holdout turning up. He noticed the residents are here mostly for food and personal hygiene items while the well-fed public servants mostly are looking for insoles and chocolates. This WalgreenÕs Pharmacy on Tchopotoulas Street off of Jefferson Avenue is one of the few stores in the entire city doing business at this critical time as Rita approaches.
