    CAMP CHALLENGE

Camp Challenge is a five-week training camp held each summer at Fort Knox, Kentucky.  The  camp is conducted by Army ROTC and is open primarily to college students who have at least two years of college remaining.   The purpose of the camp is to teach students the topics that are offered during the first two years of  ROTC (Military Science 100 and 200 level courses).  Emphasis is placed on leadership training, and the student will have many opportunities to practice leading others under a variety of conditions.  Instruction is presented by Army professionals in marksmanship, land navigation, tactics, first aid, military customs and many other areas.  Officers from schools across the country are available for counseling, instruction and guidance.  Camp Challenge graduates are  eligible to enroll in the advanced course upon returning to their college or university in the fall. Attendance at Camp Challenge incurs no obligation to enter the Army ROTC program.  You can try the program out before making a decision!  Camp Challenge provides opportunities to students not offered anywhere else in the military.  Here are just some of the reasons that Camp Challenge is so popular:

       1.  Completely free of obligation.

        2.  Students do not sign a contract with the Army to attend.

        3.  Earn $625.05 for camp completion.

        4.  Room, board, and transportation are all provided free of charge.

        5.  Camp Challenge is a substitute for the first two years of military science courses.

        6.  Leadership training is provided along with military skills training.

        7.  You can validate a 2yr Scholarship if awarded.
