- Why did you choose Loyola?
I chose Loyola because I absolutely feel in love with the atmosphere and the reputation of the university. I love the way students and faculty greets each other and the fact that I’m not just a number at this school. I always recognized by my name without a teacher having to look at their class roll. The people are very polite and the student faulty population is very diverse. These are all reasons as to why I chose to attend Loyola University New Orleans.
- If you could give one piece of advice to a prospective student about the college application process what would it be?
If I could advise any student as they apply to a college, I would honestly tell them to choose wisely. By choosing wisely one must take into consideration how far they want to be away from home, their choice of major, the diversity of the university (if that is a pro or con to the student),the total atmosphere of the university and the student to teacher ratio. I believe these are all factors that should influence ones choice when choosing a college or university.
- What was your first visit to campus like?
My first visit to campus was when I visited for Presidents Open House! I was so anxious, yet excited. I did not know what to expect or who to talk to. Then I walk into the Dana Center, and I hear a bunch of people saying hi to me!! They didn’t even know me, and they held complete and meaningful conversations with me. There was no trouble figuring out where to go or choosing which organization I wanted to join first! As you can see, I became an Ambassador!
- What’s the best thing about Loyola University? Why?
The best thing about Loyola University is the diversity. I say this mostly, because I love getting to know different people and learning about different cultures! I cannot relay you how many times I have extended my dinner stay just because I met a new person from another country! This is one way that has broadened my horizon and I greatly appreciate it and crave to get to know more cultures!
- How has your time at Loyola enhanced/challenged you as a person?
Since I have started classes at Loyola, I must say that those classes have helped me to think deeper and to search for the true meaning of things. They have enhanced me as a person, both philosophically and in regards to my community.
- In what ways does Loyola foster involvement in community action?
Loyola promotes involvement in community action by making it apart of the curriculum and by supporting the biggest organization on campus which is the club that promotes community involvement most.
