Biology Elective Course
Course Description:
The course is an introduction to the field and laboratory study of algae. An ecological perspective is used to explore the diversity of photosynthetic microbes forming the energy base of aquatic habitats, including environmental and economic concerns. Labs include living materials, field collection, culturing and experimental analysis. Prerequisites: Completion of Biology Core Courses.

4 credits, lecture and lab (field).
