Biology Core Course

Course Description:

This course introduces the chemical, cellular and genetic processes common to all life, emphasizing principles and concepts. Topics include the scientific method, basic chemical concepts, biological macromolecules, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell structure, membrane structure and function, energy and metabolism, photosynthesis, respiration, meiosis, mitosis, Mendelian inheritance and the Central Dogma of molecular biology.
