As always, please feel free to send us a proposal for a
Machaut-related paper, even if it seems not to fit perfectly into one of
these topics.
See our Kalamazoo
page for more information on last year's sessions and our business
meeting. General information on
the conference, including a complete program, can be found here.
Leeds
The IMS seeks to sponsor sessions at the Leeds International Medieval
Congress held each July. Anyone interested in presenting a Machaut-related
paper or session under our auspices should contact
Deborah McGrady. The International
Medieval Congress is, as their administration says, the largest
gathering of medievalists in Europe, and therefore functions as a sort
of European counterpart to the International Conference on Medieval
Studies in Kalamazoo each May. For more
information on the Leeds conference, look here.
The Sarah Jane Williams Award
The International Machaut Society sponsors the Sarah Jane Williams
Award to honor the Society's founder and first president. This award,
carrying a prize of $500, will be given every other year to promote the
study, criticism, performance, research, and exchange of ideas related
to all aspects of the works of Guillaume de Machaut. For more
information, look here.
